DOI: 10.3897/jhr.87.59794

Authors: Zachary Lahey, Luciana Musetti, Lubomír Masner, Norman F. Johnson

Abstract: The genus Phoenoteleia Kieffer is revised. Phoenoteleia canalis Dodd, P. rufa Kieffer, and P. rufescens (Kieffer) are redescribed, P. fusca (Kieffer) is transferred to Dicroscelio Kieffer as Dicroscelio fuscus (Kieffer), comb. nov., and six species are described as new: P. buka Lahey, sp. nov. (Fiji), P. gunnelsi Lahey, sp. nov. (Indonesia), P. halua Lahey, sp. nov. (Indonesia), P. kaca Lahey, sp. nov. (Indonesia), P. kuboa Lahey, sp. nov. (Fiji), and P. sanma Lahey, sp. nov. (Vanuatu). The difficulty in associating male and female specimens is discussed. A key is provided to differentiate between the species of Phoenoteleia and the putative closely related genera Mallateleia Dodd and Oxyteleia Kieffer.

An extraordinary new species of Deuteragenia Šustera, 1912 (Hymenoptera, Pompilidae) from Indonesia https://jhr.pensoft.net/article/64682/ Journal of Hymenoptera Research 84: 127-135

DOI: 10.3897/jhr.84.64682

Authors: Valery M. Loktionov

Abstract: Deuteragenia leleji sp. nov. is described and illustrated, based on a female from Sumatra, Indonesia. This extraordinary species possesses a peculiar character, cleft tarsal claws, recorded for the first time in the genus Deuteragenia Šustera, 1912 and the tribe Deuterageniini Šustera, 1912. The genus Deuteragenia is newly reported from the island of Sumatra.

Revision of Aleyroctonus Masner & Huggert (Hymenoptera, Platygastridae, Sceliotrachelinae) https://jhr.pensoft.net/article/38383/ Journal of Hymenoptera Research 73: 73-93

DOI: 10.3897/jhr.73.38383

Authors: Zachary Lahey, Lubomír Masner, Norman F. Johnson, Andrew Polaszek

Abstract: The genus Aleyroctonus Masner & Huggert is revised. Aleyroctonus pilatus Masner & Huggert is redescribed, and two species are described as new: A. miasmus Lahey & Polaszek, sp. nov. (Australia) and A. stanslyi Lahey & Polaszek, sp. nov. (Australia). We consider Aleyroctonus to be most closely related to a complex of three morphologically similar genera: Aphanomerus Perkins, Austromerus Masner & Huggert, and Helava Masner & Huggert. Aleyroctonus is diagnosed from other genera of Sceliotrachelinae and a key is provided to the platygastrid genera of the Aphanomerus-cluster.

Description of Apechthis cantika sp. n. from Sulawesi Is., Indonesia with redescription of the holotype of A. taiwana Uchida (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Pimplinae) https://jhr.pensoft.net/article/1627/ Journal of Hymenoptera Research 31: 105-117

DOI: 10.3897/jhr.31.3813

Authors: Kyohei Watanabe, Keizo Takasuka

Abstract: Apechthis cantika sp. n. (Ichneumonidae: Pimplinae) is described from the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is the first known representative of the genus in Indonesia and also the southernmost record of Apechthis in the Oriental region, extending the known distribution far southwards. Discovery of a second yellow Apechthis in the Oriental region, following A. taiwana Uchida, suggests that the genus suddenly changes its body colour entirely from black to yellow towards the equator, independently in both the Oriental and Neotropical regions. The holotype of A. taiwana, apparently closely related to A. cantika sp. n., is also redescribed for comparison.

Genus Cryptopimpla Taschenberg new to Sulawesi, Indonesia, with description of a new species (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Banchinae) https://jhr.pensoft.net/article/1574/ Journal of Hymenoptera Research 23: 65-75

DOI: 10.3897/jhr.23.1595

Authors: Keizo Takasuka, Kyohei Watanabe, Kazuhiko Konishi

Abstract: Cryptopimpla sulawesiensis sp. n. (Ichneumonidae: Banchinae: Atrophini) is described from the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia (Sundaland). This is the first known representative of the genus in Indonesia and is also the southernmost record of Cryptopimpla in the Oriental region. The presence of Cryptopimpla in Sulawesi, which belongs to Wallacea, indicates the potential distribution of Cryptopimpla in the Indochina Peninsula, Sundaland (other than Sulawesi Is.) and possibly Australia, where there have been no records of the genus.
